Alba Iulia
Alba Iulia is a city of perfect national importance, being the place where important historical events took place. Also called 'The Other Capital', this is the city where the document certifying the union of Transylvania with Romania was signed on December 1, 1918. The Great Union took place here, the unanimous desire of the country's inhabitants and the motivation behind the Romanians' political and military actions. In addition to the rich historical baggage, Alba Iulia delights its tourists with the architectural jewels it houses.

Alba Iulia is one of the first settlements in the country, which during the Roman occupation was known as 'Apulum'. At that time, it represented the largest economic and military center. The Tatar invasions of 1241 destroyed the city, but this fact was remedied during the period when the city became the capital of the Principality of Transylvania (1542 – 1690). Then, the city becomes tributary to the Ottoman Empire.
Alba Iulia was the first capital of the three Romanian provinces (Wallonia, Transylvania and Moldova), an action carried out by Mihai Viteazul that laid the foundations of an ideal for which Romanians fought throughout time.
