Horea, one of the three leaders of the Revolution of 1784, also known as the 'Revolution of Horea, Cloșca and Crișan', was born in 1731, in the village of Arada, today Horea village, Alba county.

His name was Vasile Ursu Nicula. In the Apuseni region, until the 18th century, children were given names of animals or trees, such as Oak, Gorun, Lupu, Ursu. The name 'Horea' was, in fact, a nickname given to him because he could sing very beautifully.

Horea's memorial house is not the original house where he was born, but a replica that has the role of creating an image of the housing of his time.
