It is part of the Gilau Massif - Muntele Mare. It has an altitude of 1559 m and became famous after the unfortunate plane crash on January 20, 2014 when the BN-2 Islander plane piloted by Adrian Iovan crashed near it. As a tribute to the pilot, the locals from Horea, AB who saved the other passengers of the plane, decided to name the road on which the rescuers went Iovan' Road.
